Digital Imagination - Project 2

This is my stop motion animation of my triptych image. In this project I tried to show how the pixels created the images. You can do anything with your imagination, and you can also create your ideas. I think this better shows the idea of creating video games.

Walter Benjamin Reading Questions

1. Walter Benjamin writes, "The uniqueness of a work of art is inseparable from its being imbedded in the fabric of tradition. This tradition itself is thoroughly alive and extremely changeable." What is it that changes the tradition to something different and unique?

2.   Walter Benjamin also wrote about the reproduction of works of art and how it has been carried out throughout the years.  What do you think about works of art being replicated? Do they still show the same feeling and emotion that the original had? In an emotional sense, what makes a replicated piece different from the original?

Project 1: Triptych Digital Montage

With this piece I used a bunch of images that represent things that are important to me and have been inspiring for what I want to do. Digital media is a big part of my life. I’ve loved video games all my life and still do. I want them to always be a part of my life, so I put images from ones that have become important to me over the years, the ones that I always look to and will never, ever forget.  Along with video games, some cartoons have been influential I used some images and concept art from one of my favorite shows is in here.  I also used my own photography for that waterfall image.  All the images that I scanned were from a GameInformer magazine. I’ll call this triptych “Made Me Realize”.
